What can I say about James? From the second I arrived until the moment I left his focus was on me, what I wanted and making sure I got it. No arrogance, no trying to flog me extras I didn’t need and being pushy, just focusing on the job at hand, explaining what he was doing and politely answering all of my inane questions and making sure I was happy with the finished product and that the job was ton to perfection. Seeing him work and his meticulous nature was brilliant. Everything in its place, purposeful and neat. The service was outstanding and James made everything about the MotoLights install feel special and catered to everything I wanted. He provided recommendations on things he would suggest I do or configure and we worked together to get a final result I was over the moon with. Would I recommend? Hell frickin yeah!

Took my MT-09 SP to James for some much-needed TLC and I couldn’t be happier. James made me feel welcome straight away — even offered me a cup of tea and some Oreo biscuits which was a great touch! You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and their bikes. The shine on the tank alone told me it was going to be a 10/10 job. We also found a few rusty bolts, so we took them out and cleaned them up — and James even let me help polish them, which I really appreciated. As someone new to biking, he also took the time to explain how to properly look after my bike. Top service, top guy, and incredible results. If your bike needs TLC, James is definitely the one to go to. Highly recommend! 🏍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏍

Just a few shots of the front and rear brake lights being installed, plus the sound bomb horn, what a difference now being able to see so much more in the dark! Forgot to add - we now have reprogrammed the bike to have the sports screen - new colours and features, although I decided against the ‘lean angle/DCT/braking force’ feature as it wasn’t something I needed. The heated grips now have 5 stages as opposed to 2, so much more control for heating. The rear brake light was also programmed to come on as a permanent running light, so much more visible in the dark! James Riccardo Shiny Side Up - Motorcycle Valet was meticulous in his approach to the task in hand. Metalwork and plastics were carefully removed, and the corresponding fixings placed separately so as not to get mixed up. Every stage was explained and options offered in terms of programming the bike ,lights and TFT screen. He even went the extra mile and re routed my KEIS supply lead and Iptimate leads to keep them away from the weather. The Quadlock mount I had fitted didn’t escape his eagle eyes either, he noticed that the ‘QUADLOCK’ logo was vertical and not horizontal..😱 so that was also rectified. (I’m going to check the Quadlock mount on the mountain bike when I get home in case he spies that too! I thought that was it, but no..the scuffs on the rear of the white petrol tank were next to receive some attention (I must get a tank protector) and out came the polisher for a quick fix! I cannot praise James enough, he’s a super nice guy, coffees were provided throughout the installation- although he wasn’t too keen on my fig rolls? I can’t recommend Shiny Side Up Motorcycle Valet highly enough. James recently carried out a full clean and ceramic coating on my Triumph Tiger Sport 800, nicknamed Polly, and the results are nothing short of outstanding. When I first got the bike she was a lovely blue colour, but after the full princess treatment she is now the shiniest shade of blue I have ever seen! James has been brilliant throughout the whole process. You can really tell he has genuine passion for everything motorbikes and it really shows. He really does treat every bike like his own and has been keeping me updated through the whole process. I will try to keep Polly clean and maintained to the standard James has set, but I already know it will be a struggle as the bike has been returned to me in an exceptional state that, let’s be honest, I most likely will not be able to achieve myself. What really sets James apart is that this isn’t just a valet service — it’s a premium, specialist motorcycle care experience. He understands bikes, how they’re used and how to protect them properly. You can tell he takes real pride in his work and that pride shows in the final result. What can I say, I’ve used James for seasonal protection and valeting of my bikes for the past 5 years and every time he’s made me happy and delivers a 5 star service. James has looked after my Tiger 1050 Sport, 1250GS, CB1000R and now my new 1300GS. Now my 1250GS has been looked after by James since I bought it new in 2020. Each year he’s completed a valet and seasonal protection, each time the bike lines awesome again. This bike has been ridden through 5 winters and when cleaned (which being honest is not often - James will happily attest to this) she still looks great. On the odd occasion I do clean it, people will comment how good the bike is, when I then tell them it’s done nearly 70,000 miles and been through 5 winters they are genuinely shocked.
