I recently treated myself to the 90-minute GAIA Calming Journey at Gaia Spa for my birthday, with Mindy as my therapist, and it was honestly the best massage I have ever had. I have struggled with lower back pain for many years, so I was quite anxious about having that area worked on. Mindy immediately put me at ease with her calm, professional approach and took the time to understand my concerns. The treatment included a back, neck and shoulder massage, Indian head massage, facial massage and hand and arm massage, all designed to promote relaxation and relieve tension. What amazed me most was the difference it made to my lower back. For the first time in years, I have been without pain in that area. Through her skill, knowledge and therapeutic touch, Mindy managed to release tension that I didn't even realise I was carrying. The relief afterwards was incredible. The entire experience was deeply relaxing, but more importantly, it genuinely improved my wellbeing. Mindy has a real gift, and I cannot thank her enough for the care and attention she gave me. If you're considering booking a treatment, I would wholeheartedly recommend both the GAIA Calming Journey and Mindy herself. Thank you for making my birthday so special.

Staying at Boringdon Hall which I’ll review separately. In the Gaia Spa I had the 60 minute restorative journey. One of the best treatments I’ve ever had and well worth the price. Aline, my therapist, was outstanding and a credit to the facility, this was an excellent way to begin our mini break and relax straight away. As is typical at all spas it seems, people think it’s ok to reserve beds around the pool, and the staff cannot keep on top of clearing towels away quickly enough. The relaxation area is hidden away and a much quieter space if you want to relax post-treatment.

Ive been to Ghia spa in Plymouth before and it was amazing, but our experience this time was not We waited around 3 times during our visit at spa reception and cafe upstairs,we were not shown around like we were told, steam rooms were not working but according to managers response the steam rooms were fine, why would we lie, there was no heat or steam,so it speaks for itself The waiting around she blamed it on handovers, thats management issues, not ours, others were also ecmplaining. the food was slso dry,etc It was my birthday and it ruined it,my friend totally cancelled her treatment,I still took the risk with a discount, fortunately the massage was great and so was therapist I'd rather pay full amount and get a great experience This is not 5 standard !The email took no accountability at all

Whilst my friend and I had a relaxing evening, it’s been two weeks and we both still have conjunctivitis from the visit to Gaia Spa. She came down to visit from Southampton so it can be no coincidence that we both contracted sore, red eyes and thick yellow discharge the day after. The venue asked for feedback and I told them of our experiences however their only response is to say they have checked chlorine levels from the night and all was fine? We used every steam room and the bucket of cold water. A chlorine check doesn’t tell you about the hygiene of the towels or the bacteria / fungus circulating in the steam. Wouldn’t return on this basis…

This spa feels very luxury and has indoor and outdoor areas. We went when it was rainy so couldn’t use the outdoor hot tub but it was very cosy being in the warm pool looking out the full length glass windows to the rain. A good range of sauna, steam rooms etc. The cold water bucket was a nice touch as you don’t see that everywhere. There aren’t enough loungers for all guests which is pretty standard. We had a 90 minute treatment which was incredible - the best we have ever had!! Normally I say deep pressure and the massage is never as deep as I’d like, but this was perfect!! The relaxation room after your treatment is soo cosy! Would actually say £155 for a 90 min treatment with spa access for the full day is actually very good value for money at such a nice spa.

I booked a treatment at Gaia Spa as a birthday present for my mum, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the moment she arrived, the atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and beautifully relaxing. Jess truly went above and beyond. As it was my mum’s very first massage, she was understandably a little nervous, but Jess immediately put her at ease. She took the time to explain everything, listened carefully, and made sure my mum felt completely comfortable throughout the experience. The massage itself was incredible, gentle, professional, and perfectly tailored. My mum came out feeling relaxed, refreshed, and absolutely glowing. She hasn’t stopped talking about how wonderful it was! Thank you, Jess, and the team at Gaia Spa for making my mum’s birthday so special and for giving her such a positive first massage experience. We’ll definitely be back.

I love this facility, right on our doorstep. Particularly like the outdoor Jacuzzi. Also, they have a lovely in relaxation area. Plenty of space. We love the old & new blended together. Not yet been in the summer there is a leisure area outside with Jacuzzi and relaxation loungers .
